• Our kitchen b4 and after

Below is a pic of our RV kitchen when we first bought it last year. The next one is after the recent changes. The old 1988 Yellowstone Class C’s had a very dull color combination on the wooden cabinets and walls, that will soon change. With a few brighter colors, it already looks better. I removed the box frame from the top of the window and shades and replaced it with a simple white and lace small curtain. It already looks brighter, modern and more spacious. We will be replacing all the old dull yellow light fixtures above the sink and on the ceilings with new brighter white LED lights and repainting the ceilings white.

The bedroom and living room have already had the old box frames removed from the tops of each window, and shades. Replacing that with a simple curtain rod that is flush with the walls, the room already looks and feels larger. Brighter and more like home with matching curtains throughout. The bar area has a hide away table, when placed back inside the bar, new set covers and drapes, a little paint and wow!

The overhead is now used for storage, we just took out the bed up there which was nothing more than a 4 in sponge mattress, and reinforced the floor below the bed so it’s much stronger now and we’ll use that area as storage! We thought about putting a TV up there like the new RV’s but we needed storage space more. Besides, using a flat screen TV, you save space on the counter. Next big job is to repair the bed because now we know why it sags in the middle! It has a 1/4 in plywood under there! We discovered the boards supporting the bed were thin and simply snapped! Here I was thinking we were going to have to replace a 23 year old mattress… LoL’s We’ll just repair the boards and add that new 4in. memory foam mattress on top of the old one and wow, it’s sure gonna sleep good then. Finally…

  • More improvements for Miss Lueffie!

Ok, here we go! A brand new 4in memory foam mattress to compliment the pre-existing tired one! A magazine rack in the bathroom, of course. A Honda 2000 generator, woohoo! A complete set of RV throw rugs that won’t slip and slide on the carpet, finally. Lots of little gizmos’s too! See, I knew we’d go overboard at Camping World! That place has everything you can think of or imagine for comfort and ease while traveling on the road. These new changes were brought about from the last time we traveled for over 7 months and newbies we were. But, we learned a lot on how to make things better for the time we spend on the road. Now that Miss Lueffie is sort of independent, we can camp just about anywhere. Most importantly, it’s about having a plan B! You just never know what you may end up needing or wish you didn’t bring along until you’ve been there, done that. I can certainly understand the old saying, it’s not about the destination. it’s about the journey. That’s what full timing it is all about. Until next time…

  • Ready to roll again!

We’ve been working on Miss Lueffie the past few days to get her ready to go. It’s amazing how cluttered a small RV can get.

We put stuff away, painted over some rust and took her down to the carwash and gave her a bath; she was totally filthy after sitting under the trees in Tennessee and then driving south. As everyone knows, vehicles run better and faster when they’re clean. Took about two hours and we missed a spot or two and scrubbed some oxidized paint off, but she looks a lot better!

We’re heading over to Cherry Pocket, a fish camp on Lake Pierce all of 75 miles away. The forecast is for great weather. There’s nothing to do there except fish and eat, and since we don’t fish….

I expect we’ll watch the water slosh, have a drink or three, then eat, then watch the water slosh, then have happy hour, then eat, and repeat a couple of times. We’ll bring back a full report.
