while camping through the summer, I discovered two feral cats! We called them zip 1 and zip 2. We spent the summer getting to know them, and they did the same. Luckily other campers will continue to care for them as we did. I hope to see them again in the spring!

Old fishing dock, seasons first sign of snow!
I took this photo of an old fishing dock the first week of November, 2010 which caught it’s first glimpse of snow this season! While we are breaking down the camp site, routing our GPS, packing grills, etc. we know the time has finally come. I’m excited about our trip back to the Sunshine State, but I will truly miss Tennessee. My summer here was absolutely fantastic. I never dreamed I could camp for almost 7 months! What this means, is I didn’t have my high speed broadband, my 5,000 channels on cable, my dishwasher, washer and dryer and so many more things I just know I have taken for granted. Yet, if I had it to do all over again, absolutely nothing would have been changed. Well… maybe I would have planned on arriving in this wonderful state two months earlier. Thanks for reading my posts, hope you have enjoyed them this summer almost as much as I enjoyed writing them!

A short video of the first snow fall I’ve seen in over 30 years!
I shot this short video clip and hoping it will show on the blog. It is the first snow fall I’ve seen in over 30 years and I was so excited! It was absolutely breathtaking for me. Many local folks shrugged there shoulders as if, no not again! But, for me, it was a memory I was more than happy to recapture.Snow on the Cumberland Plateau!
