We discovered that it’s cold in the mountains in May for northern Georgia! It was a chilling 53 degree’s this morning in the motorhome. Last night we left all the windows open to enjoy the mountain fresh air. We didn’t have Internet access so we had no idea about the weather. We do own a weather radio but it never occured to us to listen to it, not once did we think it would get that cold. LoL’s, Floridians are just that way!
Today, we walked all around the campground and down to the lake. We got some great photos of the wild life and of the park. If you ever want to stay at this campground, think twice if you are traveling in a large motorhome or pulling a large RV! The roads leading into the camp area are one way in and out. But, the roads are so narrow and steep that you simply don’t get that feel good feeling! Other than that, it’s a great place to camp. The camp grounds are gorgeous and fully shaded as are all of the Georgia State Parks that we’ve camped at so far.
Well, it seems that fat cat has discovered a new room for himself! He’s chosen the overhead space. Since we don’t use that area for sleeping and have removed the bed, it’s perfect for him. He’s managed to jump from the seat by the table to the back of the drivers seat and then op into the loft as we call it. I had a brilliant idea today, don’t know if it will work but it’s worth a try! I figured that when we arrive to our destination, we’ll be there a couple of months so why not convert the loft to a fat cat room! It’s carpeted, has a window on each side, perfect for his covered kitty litter box with the fancy charcoal filter for odor, food bowl, toys and such. He’s happier there and not under foot! lol’s
Since it’s our last night here, we’re getting Miss Lueffie road ready so we can leave bright and early tomorrow morning! Our tailgate grill is attached, everything is put away and all we have to do in the morning is unhook the electric and water, remove our cover from the windshield, put the harness on fat cat, visit the dump station and then rock and roll!
