Almost all of the lots have a lake view, this one was a pull through!

  • Native Woods Naturist Park, Darien, Ga.

If you are offended having others see you in your birthday suit or seeing others in theirs, do not click here! It’s our next stop from Crooked River State Park, Ga.

Native Woods is a member of AANR (American Association for Nude Recreation). There’s no gate at the entrance, it’s a long driveway back in to the park, so it rarely gets curiousity seekers. The park is clothing optional, so if you are not ready to bare it all, you don’t have too. We paid a low price for the camp site that’s long enough to fit two large campers end to end. Sewer hookup, electric, water, cable tv, and wi-fi are included.

The owner is very laid back and friendly. He’s obviously not in it for the money. If you want a soda, just get it out of the fridge in the Rec Hall and leave a dollar in the can. Need to wash clothes, leave a dollar in the can! It’s a true honor system.

The first thing you see from the road is an old blue shack that says Native Woods. No indication it’s a clothing optional nudist camp ground. The park has only three campers in it and they are empty. Seems the folks who own them, leave them here year round and show up whenever. The layout is a lot like a State Park because the lots are spacious with lots of natural growth between camp sites. Most of the lots are pull through.  All lots have fire pits and unlimited supply of already cut wood to burn! Now we’re talkin!

There’s a small building referred to as the Club House, has a fridge, stove, table for seating, tv, etc. It was originally a storage shed that was converted. Large above ground pool with sun deck and umbrellas and lots of lounge chairs. There is a bath house with a washer and dryer and an out door shower.

Overall, it’s like a little peace of paradise that got stuck in time…

  • Astor Landing, Astor FL

Astor Landing is a fairly interesting place. It’s a quiet marina on the St. Johns River and it’s a quiet campground next to the marina around a pond. I think it’s a mostly seasonal CG while the liveaboards in the marina are permanent.

It’s quiet and peaceful; there are no activities and I saw all of two children in the several days we were there. It’s also down past the backside of BFE and Astor itself isn’t exactly a teeming metropolis. And that suits me just fine. I observed to TheMrs that it would be an easy place to go to seed at.

Electricity is good, water tastes ok and the sewer works.

    Beautiful Sky

    Boats at the marina.

The St. Johns River extends from the Atlantic to Lake Hell'n'Blazes west of Melbourne and is navigable to Sanford.

And this may indicate the primary activity.
