    Indian Mound

    Indian Mound

    I’ve blogged about Kolomoki before, I know…

Just wanted to mention how good it was being off the grid…

No Internet, no TV! Nice day for relaxing. We climbed up the Indian Mounds at Kolomoki! Walked the trails for the first time. It may have been only 2.30 miles all together according to my hand held GPS’s. But, I could feel the climb and it was great! We have been at this park 3 separate trips. This was the first time that we actually got out and explored. Now that I am in to walking 3 miles a day, I am seeing the other benefits to traveling to State Parks, there is always another trail to blaze. I will never see them quite the same again! So many opportunities for hiking, I can log another 3 + miles per day, hooray!

    Here’s a funny story!

A couple of years ago we were traveling in Miss Lueffie, a 27 foot Class C. Not much room to move around in but we survived. We noticed that for the most part, we were on display! Camping at a place called Cherry Pocket in Florida where the place was mostly a fish house/bar/boat dock. Having about 5 or 6 RV spots around the lake close to the docks.

Folks kept walking by us and peeking in the windows! Finally, someone ask us “what do ya’ll eat in there?” Of all things, asking someone what  they eat in a camper! Well, thank goodness we now have a 36 foot Coach and the kitchen is much bigger!

Recently I decided I’d show folks what we cook and eat in our camper so as to satisfy their curiosity. I created My Camper Kitchen and started logging all of our recipes, taking photos of what we cook and sharing them with folks. You really can cook anything in a camper and it’s no different than in a house or trailer that is small.  In close quarters, you learn to organize better! Now, if someone ask us what we eat, I can send them to our website to see for themselves!

  • Launching this Friday 11/22/13! On the road again…

Wow, we are so excited! It’s been almost two years since we have hit the road traveling like gypsies! Well… we’re locked and loaded!

It’s hard to put it in to words the feeling of traveling once again! John and I love being on the road. With The Queens Barge, well, I have to admit, that diesel engine turns me on! I guess it’s the power behind a diesel but it’s more than that, it means we’re like all those before us but more! No more wagon trains, no more horse back, no more foot patrol, no more being confined to where you are, so don’t let the dust settle…
